Progression in WonderKing is largely the same as other MMORPGs, with one major difference. There are A LOT of quests in WonderKing, especially early on. I never had to mindlessly grind to gain experience, as I was constantly working on completing a quest or two. What makes the game’s questing system even better is that every time you level-up, the game’s ‘Quests’ interface will be updated, explaining what new quests are available and where they can be acquired. Each new level gives players five attribute points (as well as two skill points), which can be allocated into the game’s six stats – Str, Dex, Int, Luck, Vit and Wis. The game’s experience rate is actually quite fast, at least early on. I was able to get to level 12 on my mage in under two hours, and getting to 15 from 12 took me less than twenty minutes. Keep in mind that while training in WonderKing, it’s almost always better to kill higher level monsters slower than killing low level enemies faster. I found that I could gain experience most efficiently at level 16 killing level 30 mermaids. Try not to kill enemies that are too high-level though, because killing monsters that are twice your level or higher will yield significantly less experience than normal.
Players can further specialize their classes by reaching level 30 and unlocking their first job advancement. Each of the game’s four starting classes have access to two different ‘paths’ at level 30. Mages, for example, can become either a priest or wizard at level 30, and depending on their choice, a saint or warlock at level 80. I said ‘depending on their choice’ because players who opted to become a priest at level 30 cannot become a warlock at level 80. In fact, the game won’t even ask you because your job selection at level 30 determines your job advancement at level 80 with wonderking zed, so choose carefully!
