Lunia: Record of Lunia War Review

Episode 4 to 6:

After the events of Episode 3, the crew is stranded in a forest and are trying to get back to the kingdom. Upon their return, the knights begin to attack them and they find trolls wandering the streets of the city. It is up to them to find out what is going on.

Graphics:

The graphics uses some cell shading to give it the look it has. There are nice spell effects and the characters are pretty good as well. The enemies start repeating themselves after a while which can get annoying, but some of the bosses have nice effects to go with their abilities. The spell effects are probably the best part of the game having the most variety I have seen in a long time. Characters look similar at first, but change as you get to higher levels and eventually it will be difficult to find a doppelganger of yourself because of the possibilities in equipment combinations.

Guilds:

Guilds have a ranking system based on number of hours the players are online. The top guild's leader will receive a portion of the money spent in the server's guild shops. Guilds also have access to guild shops, bonus exp, stat boosting items, and increased movement speed. These bonuses are small, but every bonus is better than no bonus at all. It gives reasons to participate in guilds and everyone helps contribute to the overall guild. A maximum of 200 members can be in a guild and the guild leader can appoint officers based on the level and size of the guild. The only problem is that whichever guild has the most people AFKing can be the best guild.

Overall:

Lunia is a good action RPG. It has a nice variety of characters, nice looking enemies and stages, and good effects. The learning curve is smooth for most of the game except at certain boss battles (Lir and Rigel) because of their ability to heal themselves. The only real problem is the gap between level 50 and level 65. Level 65 is where the fun really picks up once you can start playing Myth, but the gap between level 60 and 65 is over 140 million exp which makes it hard to achieve. If it is possible for you to overcome this, then Lunia is a good game to play. My only complaint has to be the item mall and the no risk and item restoration items. If you want to play the game well, you may Buy Lunia.

Final Score:

8/10 – Lunia is a fun action RPG. It has nice features and is simple and easy to learn. Sometimes difficult to find parties, but guild members and friends can make up for it.
