The MMO Elves over at Atari have been busy, but with all the snow piling up in New York City it is not like they had anything better to do, right? Still, today's announcement that Champions Online: Free For All has launched is welcome news indeed!
According to the head elf over at Atari, Champions Online: Free for All is about choice and customizing your entire experience. You can already customize your hero, they did not take that out, but evidently they did add to the levels you can reach in customization, which you have to admit is rather spiff!
Silver Players who choose to play the game a la carte can enjoy Champions Online Gold and adventure from level 1 to 40 without restriction, while Gold Players still have full access to.. You know... Everything. Lucky bastards!
Silver Players have the option to become a Gold Member for $14.99 a month, which unlocks all of the game's existing content and allows classic CO freeform character progression. Subscribing also grants a stipend of 400 Cryptic Points to use in the C-Store every month, which is not too bad really.
The point to all this is that everyone can now create an account and play Champions Online absolutely free, so what is your excuse now(Champions Gold)?
