Situation looks easy and we agree with the other posters that the charger would simply slide to fit the flank of the charged unit. If the second unit can make contact in its maximized position through all that terrain, THEN the first unit as shown has a legal position and ends up charging both units.
In the second example, again contact made means successful charge. Now we are aligning against friendlies, so we would invoke the fighting backwards from incomplete ranks rule (where you draw a path from unengaged rear rankers in the second most rear rank to the enemy in the rear as if they were in contact to fight) and have all troopers that can draw a similar path forward to enemy actually fight in Warhammer.
